19-year-old Brandon Schmidt is hoping to get a double lung transplant that could save his life.
The Paradise Teen was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis when he was 4-month-old and has recently taken a turn for the worst.
Insurance companies have refused to cover the cost of the $400,000 procedure and the family is now looking for help in getting that decision overturned.
But at the same time they are working to raise money to cover the early costs associated with the consultation at UC San Francisco by holding fundraisers.
They currently have a bake sale scheduled for Saturday, April 14th at 10 a.m. at the Dollar Store on Clark Road in Paradise.
They are also planning to hold a raffle for family jewelry and are working to coordinate a 5K run.
If you would like to help with any of the fundraisers or have advice for their insurance problems, you can contact the family at firstname.lastname@example.org
