The death of a boy who was mauled by three dogs is currently under investigation in Linda.
The nine-year-old boy, whose name is currently being withheld, was left alone at a home on the 6200 block of Dunning Avenue by his 24-year-old half-sister Alexandria Griffin-Heady, while she went to work. The boy was left alone in the trailer for approximately three hours, according to Griffin-Heady.
When Griffin-Heady returned, she told sheriffs she found the boy had been attacked by the dogs and was suffering from life threatening injuries.
The boy was taken to Rideout Hospital where he died from his injuries.
Animal Care Services responded and seized the three Pit Bull dogs from the property. They included a 4 year old female, a 1-and-a-half year old female and a 1-and-a-half year old male. Animal Care Services reported having no history with the dogs.
Undersheriff Jerry Read said they are currently investigating the incident and are determining if charges will be filed.
