FRENCH VALLEY, Calif. (AP) - A toddler has been seriously injured by a dog that attacked him at a French Valley park where he was playing with his mother.
Television station KNBC in Los Angeles reports Saturday that 1-year-old Kaidyn Sutton suffered damage to his facial nerves from the attack Friday afternoon.
The boy's grandfather, Glenn Garrett, told the station that the dog appeared "out of nowhere" and attacked the boy.
His mother, Michaela Sutton, says her son underwent surgery at Loma Linda Medical Center to repair damage to his forehead and a facial tendon.
Riverside County sheriff's officials say the dog could be a Rottweiler, but they have not tracked it down yet.
They are asking people in the area of Emerald Park in French Valley to keep watch for it and use caution.
