Bounty of the North State celebrated in Museum Benefit

The 3rd Annual "Local Table" ... a celebration of the bounty of the North State ... will take place on Sunday, April 10th from 4-7 p.m. at Wine Time in Chico.

It is a benefit for the Valene L. Smith Museum of Anthropology at CSU, Chico. It is the only museum dedicated to Anthropology in the region, and for 45 years it has provided unique and engaging FREE exhibitions and educational programming ... ranging from the story of Ishi to space exploration, to shipwreck archeology. There are tours for area school children, Free Family Events, Free Lecture Series, and summer camps for area children. The museum also provides hands on experience that trains CSU, Chico students for careers in museums and cultural heritage management.

The Local Table will feature tastes of Food and Wine harvested from local landscapes, catered by Chico Natural Foods Kitchen and The Living Wild Project. Wineries include Straw House Cellars, Quilichi Winery and New Clairvaux Vineyard. Live Mandolin Jazz will be provided by The Bob Kirkland Trio. There will also be a silent auction and raffles.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Must be 21 to attend. Tickets are for sale at Art, Etc., Chico Natural Foods, Wine Time, Zucchini and vine and The Valene L. Smith Museum of Anthropology in the Meriam Library Complex at CSU, Chico.
