A boil water advisory remains in effect for residents in the town of Castella.

The advisory was issued last Friday by Shasta County Public Works, because of a loss of water pressure during repairs to the water main line.

Customers in the area are urged to boil tap water for at least one minute before using it for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth and food preparation.

County officials are also advising residents to disinfect water by adding 12 drops of regular household bleach, per gallon of water.

The advisory is expected to remain in effect until 5 p.m. Tuesday.
