Oroville police say the body found in the Feather River Saturday afternoon is that of a suspected transient.
Investigators say they have identified the body found submerged in the river as a local transient, but are not releasing his name because next of kin has not been contacted.
Police say the body did not have any obvious signs of trauma, and an autopsy is going to be performed to determine the cause of death.
The body was discovered by a group of tubers Saturday afternoon, on the north side of an island, just east of Bedrock Park. It was reportedly being held under water by several branches.
