A body was found at a park in south Chico Monday morning.
Police say a woman called in the body around 7 a.m., saying she came across it while walking through Depot Park on Cedar Street.
Police say they found a man known as a local transient, somewhere between 40 and 60 years old, dead in his campsite. The man has not been positively identified because he had no identification with him.
Police say there does not appear to be any foul play, but the cold and wet weather may have been a factor.
With the colder months coming, police say these cases become more frequent as the homeless shelters tend to fill up.
