An alarming security breach at the Redding Airport Wednesday night lands an Anderson man behind bars. Just after 6:30 p.m., authorities say 37-year-old Allen Ray Booth stole a baggage vehicle, drove it a short distance then entered a private jet.

Booth sat at the controls as if he was going to steal the aircraft, and, according to police, said he needed the plane because his daughter had been kidnapped. Airport security officers talked the man out of the plane, but when they tried to take him into custody he turned violent and had to be pepper sprayed.

Investigators say it appears Booth was in a drug induced delusional state. He was booked into the Shasta County Jail on charges of vehicle theft, attempted theft of an airplane and battery.
