Bigger storm coming Saturday

It was a wet day around most of the North State Thursday, especially to the north. Places in Trinity County saw well over 1" of rain today! Redding picked up almost 1/2" of rain, while Marysville saw no rain, and Chico picked up just .01". This rain will lift northward overnight, and Friday looks dry and warmer.

Low pressure in the North Pacific will rotate another disturbance towards us on Saturday. This new disturbance will work with plenty of Pacific moisture to bring us more rain then... Around 1/2" in Chico, and slightly more in Redding... and much more in the mountains, naturally. This disturbance will have low surface pressure too, which will kick up the winds. Look for southerly wind gust near 35 mph in the Valley, and higher gusts over the mountain ridgetops Saturday. Those outdoor Halloween decorations may get blown around! Both the winds and rain end by Sunday.

Next week looks like a mix of sun and clouds, but no rain. At this point, Halloween is looking dry.
