Active weather has returned to the region overnight, and the chance for more showers, and thunderstorms will continue this week. A line of thunderstorms has developed from Shasta to Modoc Counties early this morning. The main impact has been limited to higher elevations, and that trend is expected to continue over the next several days. Temperatures are starting out in the mid to high 50's for the valley this morning, and in the high 30's to mid 40's in the mountains. Afternoon high temperatures are expected to climb into the mid 70's to low 80's in the valley, and into the low 60's to low 70's for the higher elevations. Winds are expected to be up to 15 to 20mph out of the South.
Temperatures will drop even more on Tuesday, and will continue to stay cool through Thursday. The potential for showers, and thunderstorms will linger in the northern zones of the state over the next several days, and that chance will dip further South later this week. Most valley locations are only expected to climb into the low to mid 70's from Tuesday through Thursday. A modest increase in temperatures is expected to return to the region on Friday, and will last through your weekend forecast.
I hope everyone is ready for the active, and cooler weather on the way. Have a marvelous Monday!
