The Bidwell Park Golf Course will begin sales of alcohol on Friday after the course received its alcohol licenses.
Back in January, the Chico city council approved alcohol sales for the golf course after many residents and golf course officials’ stated selling alcohol at the course would attract nearly 10,000 to 15,000 people from around the North State.
Golf Course officials say alcohol sales could bring nearly $400,000 in revenue to the course.
“We are a non-profit, so everything we do and everything we bring in, the extra dollars we bring in from having alcohol at the golf course goes back into the facility, General Manager for the Bidwell Park Golf Course, Courtney Foster said.
Officials plan to use those funds for improvement to the course and make needed upgrades to their irrigation system.
The golf course plans to open up a bar and grill in the upcoming months.
