A Berry Creek man had to be transported to a hospital with serious injuries Saturday, after his roommate allegedly stabbed him in the chest.
Butte County sheriff’s deputies responded to a stabbing call from a home in the 1600 block of Bald Rock Road around 7:45 a.m.
They arrived to find one of the residents, Mark Brown, with a stab wound to the chest. Brown was transported to the hospital for treatment and an investigation was launched.
According to the sheriff’s office, initial information provided to deputies was that an unknown person entered the home and stabbed Brown, but further investigation led to Brown’s roommate, 48-year-old Ronald Fulton.
Evidence found at the scene, and statements provided by other roommates implicated Fulton, who was arrested and booked into the Butte County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and assault causing great bodily injury.
Brown is expected to survive.
