The Second "Annual Art Under the Awning" event is Thursday, October 1st, in Downtown Chico. It's a benefit for the 6th Street Center for Homeless Youth.

The event takes place from 5-9 p.m. in the parking lot of Jack's Family Restaurant, at 130 West 6th Street. It will feature a BBQ, Live music by Dylan's Dharma and others, a Burning Ninja, Magician, Bounce House and an Art Auction.

The artwork is provided by local artists and youth who use the 6th Street Center. The center served 300 homeless and runaway youth last year, between the ages of 14 and 24. It provides food, clothing, showers, counseling, case management, family reunification and help obtaining medical treatment. Organizers say they were able to help 30 youth get off the streets last year.

Tickets to "Art Under the Awning" are $20 and can be purchased at the event itself, or ahead of time through the center.
