Gabe Martin works as a Physical Therapist Assistant at Enloe’s inpatient Acute Rehab hospital, but after a debilitating stroke he is now a patient at the facility in which he used to work.

Martin, a husband and father of two has spent his life helping people with a host of injuries and impairments recover function, regain independence, and get back to their lives

On Saturday, February 22nd Gabe Martin suffered a stroke which left him unable to speak and with weakness on the right side of his body. He became a patient at the Rehab hospital, his co-workers and friends are now his nurses and therapists.

In a few short weeks, Gabe has made a lot of progress, just returning home this past week and beginning therapy on an outpatient basis.

In addition to the emotional and physical strain resulting from this event, there is a huge unexpected financial strain resulting from medical, therapy bills and income lost for both he and his wife, Jenn.

Their friends have planned an event to raise funds and provide assistance to the Martin’s during this time of need.
