The man charged for the murder of14-year-old Marysa Nichols did not enter a plea in a Tehama County Courtroom this morning. His next scheduled court day is March 3.

According to the Redding Record Searchlight, Bealer’s attorney says he will seek a change of venue, telling the Searchlight he does not think Bealer will receive a fair trial in Tehama County.

Nichols’ body was found in a creek near Red Bluff High School a year ago this month. Bealer, who initially turned himself in after being convinced to do so by piers, was charged with Nichols’ murder in March 2013.

He has previously pled not guilty in a preliminary hearing last year.
