Earlier this afternoon Quentin Bealer pled not guilty to the murder of 14-year-old Marysa Nichols in February 2013.
His next court appearance is scheduled for April 22 at 1:30 p.m. and his attorney is expected to ask for a change of venue.
Bealer is also set to face trial for an unrelated burglary charge on April 30.
Bealer pled guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and to being under the influence of meth.
Tehama County District Attorney Greg Cohen has said he feels the DNA evidence in the case is strong, while Defense Attorney Shon Northam has said there is still a lot more to the story and more forensic work is needed.
