Around 3:00am Saturday, deputies with the Butte County Sheriff's Office were involved in a pursuit that led to an arrest. According to investigators, deputies tried to initiate a traffic stop for a lighting violation. They say the driver of the vehicle, later determined to be Michael Campbell, 49, refused to pull over, and led deputies on a pursuit roughly 4 miles through the Paradise area. After running several stop signs, investigators say Campbell finally pulled over on the 700 block of Ashland Lane. Campbell had a passenger with him, who was not arrested. Campbell has been booked on charges of 'felony evading a peace officer,' 'possession of a controlled substance,' 'possession of drug paraphernalia,' and 'driving on a suspended license.' Bail is set at $55,000.
