The Bay Area father who had been missing for two days with his two young children after failing to return home from a camping trip to the Sierras has been found safe, the Sierra County Sheriff's Office confirmed Thursday night.

Nicholas Vlahos, 41, along with his 5-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter were due home from their trip Tuesday, but never arrived.

The three were reported as missing to the Sierra County Sheriff's Office Tuesday evening.

KNTV in San Jose reports Vlahos is co-owner of a popular barbershop in North Oakland, California.
