BART Strike Averted

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Thanks to an eleventh hour order by Gov. Jerry Brown, Bay-area commuters aren't facing a strike against BART's train service today. Brown's order late last night named a board of investigators for a seven-day inquiry into the contract dispute that threatened to shut down the nation's fifth largest rail line. BART said the transit authority's board president Tom Radulovich sent a letter to Brown requesting his intervention.
