A week after the second-degree murder charge against a Shasta County woman was dropped, her bail has been reduced to $100,000.

Prosecutors say 53-year-old Virginia Anderson was driving under the influence of methamphetamine when she ran a red light at the intersection of Placer Street and Buena Ventura Road in Redding on April 24. As Anderson went through the intersection she collided with a motorcycle driven by 27-year-old Haley Riggins. Riggins, the mother of a 10-month-old girl, was left in a coma and died on April 30.

Anderson had been charged with second-degree murder and DUI causing bodily injury, but the second-degree murder charge was dropped because it was determined by the court Anderson did not act with deliberate disregard for human life.

Anderson was previously being held on $1 million bail.

Anderson faces eight years in prison if convicted.
