For the 22nd year the martial arts center will deliver Thanksgiving dinner baskets to as many Chico families in need as their fund-raising budget allows.

A typical basket includes a turkey, bread, baked goods, vegetables, gravy, pie, a roasting pan and other items to help make a memorable Thanksgiving dinner for those less fortunate. Much of the success of the project depends on cash donations toward the purchase the baskets. Those interested can even sponsor a family. Individuals can sponsor a dinner for $40 but any dollar amount is welcomed. Businesses who donate $250 or more will be listed on the “Basket Brigade” event poster.

According to Azad’s press release, families whom receive assistance are those with school aged children who live within the city limits of Chico and have not already received help from the Basket brigade program and are deemed financially worthy.

Dinners are scheduled to be picked up, organized, and delivered on Tuesday, November 26. After the baskets are delivered volunteers and supporters are invited to a thank-you dinner party at 8 p.m. that same evening.
