The Colusa County Sheriff’s Office has released the autopsy results of Concepcion Johnson, 51, a postal worker who was found dead in canal back on November 2013.
Investigators say the autopsy showed Johnson drowned after her body was recovered by a sheriff’ office dive team in a canal off Lurline Road just two miles west of Colusa, according to the press release.
The investigation is ongoing and has been submitted to the Colusa County District Attorney’s office for a review and requesting that criminal charges be filed.
“No arrest has been made,” Lt. Shane Maxey said.
Sheriff Deputies have ruled Johnson death as suspicious.
Johnson was scheduled to work Monday, November 11, 2013 but didn’t show up for work that day or the next. There was no answer at Johnson’s home when the postmaster called to check on her, according to the Colusa Police Department’s press release.
The department’s investigation traced Johnson’s whereabouts at a local restaurant called Rocco’s Bar and Grill with an unidentified man.
Colusa Police Officers interviewed the man who was last known to be seen with Johnson, who eventually led them to a location of Johnson's body.
The identity of the man has not been released.
