Authorities working to identify man hit by car in Red Bluff

Authorities in Red Bluff have not been able to identify a man struck by a vehicle on South Main Street Monday night.

According to the Red Bluff Police Department, officers were called to the 200 block of South Main Street around 9:15 p.m. and when they arrived they found a man lying in the road seriously injured.

The pedestrian was taken to St. Elizabeth's Hospital, and then flown to Enloe Medical Center where he remains in serious condition.

Witness' told police the man ran westbound into traffic and across South Main Street. He was struck by a sedan as he entered the number two lane of South Main Street.

The driver or passenger in the sedan were injured and an investigation is ongoing.
