TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - An Arizona music festival is set to resume for a Kanye West performance hours after as many as 12 people were injured when a crowd rushed a stage.

Tempe Police Sgt. Damon DeSpain says that the department is working with Tempe Fire Medical Rescue and the event promoter to avoid a similar situation Sunday at the Summer Ends Music Festival.

He says police are encouraging concert-goers to come prepared by staying well hydrated and dressing appropriately for the heat.

Tempe fire officials told KNXV-TV that nine people were taken to a nearby hospital after the incident about 7 p.m. at Tempe Beach Park. The station reports that two minors were taken from the festival with life-threatening injuries.

West is scheduled to take the stage Sunday night.
