Authorities Trying To Get Aid To Philippines Typhoon Survivors

Nov 15, 2013 8:16 AM

GUIUAN, Philippines (AP) - Much of the immense need in the Philippine regions slammed by a killer typhoon remains unfilled as aid efforts battle clogged airports, blocked roads and a lack of manpower.

Authorities estimate some 600,000 people have been displaced.

Most of those are likely to be homeless.

Along with food, water and medicine, aid groups will prioritize the distribution of tools, nails and other equipment to allow people to make better shelters.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the storm is now past 3,600.
