The Butte County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who was last seen near the Paradise flumes Sunday morning.
According to the sheriff's office, 19-year-old Tristan Lucero told a friend over the phone Sunday that he had been lost in the woods for several hours and had no idea where he was. Lucero mentioned he had been walking along the flumes in an area where repair work had recently been done. Lucero has not been heard from since that phone conversation.
Lucero did not enter the woods alone last weekend, a friend of his left him to seek help Sunday morning. A man found Lucero's friend at an unknown location and gave him a ride.
Detectives say the man who gave Lucero's friend a ride was driving a blue Samurai and had a female passenger. Authorities would like to speak with him in an effort to learn where Lucero's friend was picked up.
The area Lucero is believed to have been Sunday are between the bridge at "Whiskey Flats" off of Jordan Hill Road in Magalia, and the Dean Road area of Paradise.
Anyone with information on Lucero's whereabouts is asked to contact the Butte County Sheriff's Office at (530) 538-7671.
