Butte County Sheriff's Deputies are searching for a man who allegedly attacked and then tied up family members of his ex-girlfriend early Wednesday morning in Bangor.

According to the Sheriff's office, 38-year-old Michael Carter arrived at the home of his ex-girlfriend's sister on the 6200 block of Oro Bangor Highway around midnight Wednesday. Carter attacked the woman, threatening to kill her if she did not tell him where his ex was. The woman did not know where her sister was, so Carter tied her hands and led her to a second home.

At the second home Carter reportedly hit the mother and mother-in-law of the woman he had bound at the first residence. A man who lived in the home approached Carter and was then allegedly beaten with a large stick.

Nobody told Carter where his ex-girlfriend was so he drug the woman he had bound out of the home and forced her into a vehicle. The woman's father then reportedly approached Carter with a firearm, causing him to flee and leave the bound woman in the car.

Carter is wanted for kidnapping, criminal threats, false imprisonment and felony battery. He is likely driving a blue Lincoln Navigator with the License plate 7-B-V-P-2-1-9.
