Shasta County authorities have recovered a backpack belonging to Matthew Graham, but say it did not contain any new leads as to the whereabouts of his missing 6-month-old daughter.

Matthew Graham was shot and killed by a handful of North State law enforcement agents last Monday, two days after he went on the run.

Last Sunday, Matthew Graham was seen on surveillance video in the City of Shasta Lake, carrying a black backpack. The backpack was not found in Dunsmuir when Graham was killed Monday.

On Wednesday, search and rescue teams found the backpack about 250 yards from the home Graham had carjacked a Shasta Lake couple at gunpoint early Monday morning.

Inside the backpack were a hodgepodge of items ranging from rope, twine, gloves, a single sheet, frying pan, roll of duct tape, and a shirt he had when he was originally reported missing last Saturday. However there were no items of evidentiary value in the disappearance of Ember.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ember Graham is asked to contact Shasta County Sheriff's Major Crimes Unit at (530) 245-6135.
