Attempted Robbery in Backyard Pot Garden

Redding police are investigating an attempted robbery after a man was held up in his own back yard while tending his pot garden.
Police responded to the 18-hundred block of Henry Avenue for a reported gunshot. While enroute, officers were advised that the suspects involved may have fled in a white sedan.
56 -year old Clinton Cervenka' told police he was tending to a marijuana garden in his backyard when he was approached by a black male.
He said the male climbed a fence to enter his yard, then threatened him and demanded the marijuana.
25-year old Dustin Burge of Redding, who was also tending to the garden, retrieved a pistol a fired a shot into the air in an effort to scare the intruder away.
The suspect did flee in a white sedan being driven by a black female.
They are both described as being about 25 years of age, tall and slender in build.
No one was injured during the altercation.
Burge was arrested for the 'negligent discharge' of a firearm within city limits.
The suspects remain at large.
