Yesterday, the three suspects in this afternoon’s attempted robbery at The Dungeon in downtown Chico sold glass pipes to the store yesterday. After the male and two female suspects felt they were short changed with the sale, an argument ensued which resulted in the Chico Police being called in to diffuse the situation.
Around noon this afternoon, the three suspects returned to The Dungeon to further argue the sale with the store’s employees. Around 12:21 p.m. this afternoon, the Chico Police Department was dispatched to The Dungeon regarding a physical altercation with one of the suspects armed with a knife. Officers arrived on scene and detained all three suspects. The suspects were identified as 22-year-old Elizabeth Tschantre, 23-year-old Alyssa Jacques and 19-year-old grant Nobleman. The employees reported no significant injuries.
The employees further stated two of the suspects entered the business and one immediately jumped over the counter, taking multiple items including what they sold to the store the day before. The employees attempted to stop the suspects and a physical fight ensued. All three suspects were ultimately arrested and transports to the Chico Police Department for further investigation.
Upon the police's further investigation, Jacques and Nobleman were released from the Chico Police Department with no charges. Tschantre was booked into the Butte County Jail for armed robbery, but police have yet to locate the knife reported earlier.
