The suspect in an attempted murder in Corning exactly one month ago today is now behind bars.
Tehama County Sheriff's Detectives say 37 year old James Stadler is in custody for burglary in Butte County, and that he's the one who stabbed a woman in the throat at the former Richfield Tavern July Third.
The victim was hospitalized and survived.
Stadler had fled the scene and was later arrested in Paradise on burglary charges.
He's expected to be released from the butte county jail in October, at which time he'll be moved to Tehama County for prosecution.##
