Attempted bank robbery suspect identified as 17-year-old Washington runaway

Red Bluff Police have located the attempted robbery suspect who briefly held up a bank in Red Bluff Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators say the suspect is a 17-year-old juvenile who ran away from his Olympia, WA home. The suspect has since returned home to Olympia.

The suspect's identity is being withheld because he is a juvenile.

Red Bluff investigators are currently working with law enforcement in Olympia to bring the suspect into custody.


Red Bluff Police are searching for an attempted robbery suspect after he entered a bank and demanded cash.

Red Bluff dispatch received a call of an attempted robbery at the Bank of America branch on the 900 block of Main Street around 2 p.m. Tuesday.

During the ensuing investigation, officers learned a man entered the bank, approached a teller and demanded cash. After a brief moment, the suspect fled the bank empty-handed. The suspect was reported to have fled southbound on Washington Street.

Red Bluff Police searched the surrounding area but were unable to find the suspect.

The suspect is described as a white male, 20 – 30 years old, clean shaven and wore wire framed glasses. The suspect has short balding sandy blond hair and was last seen wearing a blue and white plaid shirt and blue jeans.

No weapon was mentioned or displayed during this incident. However, citizens are urged not to contact the suspect if seen and are asked to telephone the Red Bluff Police Department.
