Athletes compete at Butte County Special Olympics

A record number of athletes competed in the annual Special Olympics Track and Field event Friday. Students from Butte and Nevada County drove to Harrison Stadium in Oroville. There were a total of 660 athletes from 66 schools. Participants practiced for the past six weeks for the track and field competition. The special olympics is a 100% volunteer organization. This is one of five events that is hosted in Butte County each year.
