The Chico Visual Arts Alliance or "ChiVaa" is once again hosting "Art at the Matador" May 6th and 7th in Chico, at the Matador Motel on the Esplanade
The event is described as a two-day, one stop Art Expo that gives local artists a space of their own from which to share their visions. 75 artists will transform Matador rooms and lawn tents into "galleries" filled with paintings, sculptures, ceramics, fiber art, jewelry and photography. All of the work is for sale.
There will also be musical entertainment, and Friday night at 8:45 you can catch Lumininjas Fire Dancers.
There will also be food and drink available for purchase. The event itself is free, with plenty of free parking.
The Matador Motel was built in Spanish Colonial Revival style in the late 1940's and early 1950's by the Glumac family, who immigrated from Yugoslavia.
It's located at 9th Avenue and the Esplanade.
Art at the Matador runs from 5-9 p.m. Friday, May 6th and 2-9 p.m. Saturday May 7th.
