Arrests made in Assault, Hate Crime on Red Bluff High Football Field

Today the Tehama County District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation executed three search warrants and two probation searches in the Red Bluff area. The warrants were served in connection to the assault of a black female on the Red Bluff High School football field on June 29. As a result of executing the warrants, the TCDABI arrested four juveniles, bringing the total to five juveniles arrested in connection with the incident. The names of those arrested have been withheld due to them being under the age of 18.

In incident on June 29, a group of males confronted a black female and according to the TCDABI’s press release, called her racial slurs then attacked her with a hammer. The victim was struck twice in the head resulting in a concussion. The incident was initially investigated by the Red Bluff Police Department who made one initial arrest before the case was handed over to the TCDABI. TCDBAI’s investigation also resulted in the recovery of the hammer used in the criminal assault, along with all the names of the individuals involved. All five juveniles have been booked into the Tehama County Jail and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, hate crime and gang rape.

TCDABI was assisted by members of the Tehama Interagency Drug Enforcement Task Force (TIDE), Tehama County Probation Department and Red Bluff Police Department.
