Police have arrested a man suspected of robbing a Paradise convenience store at gun point last month.
Paradise police say Cecil Roy Shelton, 36, of Paradise, has been identified as the man caught on surveillance tape robbing the Country Club Market on Pentz Road December 15. Shelton allegedly walked into the store, asked for a pack of cigarettes and pulled a handgun when the clerk turned around.
During the robbery an unknowing customer walked into the store and spooked Shelton, who then left with just the cigarettes.
A warrant for Shelton's arrest was issued last Friday, January 9 and on Thursday officers received a tip he was staying in a home on Elliot Road. Police, with the help of Butte County sheriff's deputies took Shelton into custody at the home Thursday.
Shelton has been booked into the Butte County jail for suspicion of robbery.
