Authorities have arrested a man they say shot and killed an Oroville man near Lincoln Boulevard Saturday night.
Butte County sheriff's investigators arrested Duarte Gonsalves, 39, for the murder of 29-year-old Paul Bryant.
Authorities say Bryant was shot Saturday near the 4700 block of Lincoln Blvd in Oroville. He was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
Investigators initially named 45-year-old Carlos Carias Sr. as a suspect in the case, but Carias turned himself in Monday morning and provided information that led detectives to Gonsalves.
Gonsalves was found Monday afternoon near a makeshift shelter in a field near the west end of Jefferson Street in Oroville. He was arrested on a felony warrant and has since been booked into jail on an open count of murder.
The investigation is ongoing.
