On Monday Anderson Police detectives arrested 55-year-old Angela o"Regan of Anderson, Calif. O'Regan was taken into custody after police learned about her involvement in plotting and soliciting the murder for hire of a family member. The intended victim in this plot was never harmed and their name is being withheld due to an ongoing investigation.
Throughout the investigation it became clear to investigators O'Regan may have been motivated by the wishes of other associated family members and child custody issues involving the aforementioned intended victim.
Detectives from the Anderson Police Department learned of O'Regan's scheme on Sunday, April 14 after receiving a phone call from the Chico Police Department which received initial information from witnesses regarding this case. Based of that information, audio and electronic evidence was located and seized by detectives. Additionally, the firearm indented to be used in the plot was recovered as well.
During an interview with O'Regan, police say she made confessions supporting the charged offense. O'Regan was booked into the Shasta County Jail on attempted solicitation of murder for hire. The investigation remains open and ongoing.
