LOS ANGELES (AP) - A Los Angeles man is being held on more than $1 million bail for allegedly starting a massive inferno in downtown Los Angeles.

Fifty-six-year-old Dawud Abdulwali, whose name may be an alias, was arrested Tuesday on a traffic warrant.

The Dec. 8 fire gutted a 1.3 million-square-foot unfinished apartment building, and the fire's heat shattered hundreds of windows in nearby buildings and ignited small fires in one. The fire also damaged a freeway.
