Shasta County Sheriff's Deputies have arrested a man they say killed his uncle during a night of drug use and drinking at an Anderson Mobile Home Park.

The body of 49-year-old Jimmy O'Neil was found just before 8 a.m. Monday May 4, at mobile home on Coleman Hatchery Road. Authorities say when they found O'Neil's body there were obvious signs of blunt force trauma to the head.

O'Neil's nephew, Eusebio Luna, told deputies his uncle had tripped and hit his head, however evidence at the scene showed blood splatter signs that the scene had been manipulated.

Additionally, autopsy results showed injuries inconsistent with a fall, including broken ribs, a broken collarbone and a stab wound to the face.

After the investigation deputies ruled O'Neil's death a murder, and came to believe Luna had tried to cover up the scene.

Luna was arrested on suspicion of murder Friday and during an interview with investigators he admitted that he could have killed his uncle, however he couldn't remember exactly what happened.
