Just before 11:00 a.m. Chico Police responded to a reports of an armed robbery at the Rabobank on Mangrove Avenue.
Police say the suspect was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of money.
Police are searching for a male suspect who was last seen heading behind the egg roll king. The suspect is described as a heavy set male, wearing a white hat, a white shirt.
This is the fifth area bank robbery in the last two weeks.
On Saturday April 12 around noon at the U.S. Bank on Colusa Avenue in Yuba City a suspect used a black satchel as a makeshift arm sling, approached the clerk brandishing a silver semi-automatic handgun.
A robbery was reported at the Bank of America in downtown Chico on Tuesday April 15. Police say a suspect slipped a note to a bank teller demanding money. The suspect claimed to be armed in his note, and was able to make off with an undisclosed amount of money.
An attempted robbery was reported at the Rabobank in Paradise Thursday April 17. Paradise Police said the suspect approached the teller with a note demanding money. The teller did not hand over any cash and the suspect left. No weapon was seen in this incident.
The most recent was Monday when an armed robber managed to make away with an undisclosed amount of cash from the Rabobank in Yuba City.
