Armed robbery at Safeway gas station in Redding

Redding Police are investigating an armed robbery, and the suspect is still at large. It happened just after 10 p.m. Tuesday night at the Safeway gas station on East Cypress Avenue.The store clerk told police that a man armed with a knife walked in and demanded money. The employee reportedly gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspect then took off on foot and was last seen running east across Churn Creek Road. He is described as a white man, around 5'10"-6' , between 150 and 180 lbs. with a slender build. Police say he also has facial hair on his neck and chin. The suspect was last seen wearing a hand-made ski mask, a black ski type jacket, grey pants and running shoes. Anyone with information is asked to call the Redding Police Department.
