Shasta County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating an assault that ended with shots fired Monday night in Shingletown.

Deputies received reports of multiple shots fired around 9 p.m. on the 7600 block of Pengan Road in Shingletown.

When deputies approached the home, all three residents denied any involvement with the disturbance. Before leaving the area deputies contacted a neighbor who said he was on a walk when he passed the home on Pegnan, where he got into an argument with a man. A van with two other men pulled up and one man stepped out with a shotgun and fired a shot into the air.

The neighbor then ran off, saying he heard six or seven shots near his feet.

No injuries have been reported and an investigation is ongoing.
