Area High Schools make prestigious list

The U.S. News and World Report has released their list of the country’s best high schools and a few northstate schools made the list.

The U.S. News and World Report reviewed 31,242 U.S. public high schools and 574 California schools made the rankings.

There are 2,026 public high schools in California. University Preparatory School in Redding was ranked 32nd in the state and came in at 195 nationally.

Chico High School was ranked 229th in the state and 1,060 nationally. Other area schools that made the list are Shasta High School, Mt. Shasta High School and Durham High School.
