PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - Forecasters are predicting up to 16 inches of accumulating snow for parts of northern Wisconsin today, and up to 2 feet is expected in Michigan's Upper Peninsula by tomorrow as artic air pushes south.

And behind the snow is some very cold air with the Midwest and the East expecting temperatures as much as 40 degrees below average as the week progresses.

The mess is thanks to a powerful storm that hit Alaska with hurricane-force winds over the weekend.
