It was a wet and windy night last night... but pretty quiet today. Another wet & windy storm will hit us Sunday!
Winds gusted 40 to 56 mph in the Valley last night, while we saw about 1/3" to 1/2" of rain in the Valley. Much higher rain totals in the mountains (Magalia had almost 2"!) That storm will continue to provide a few lingering showers overnight, but most of the activity should be done by Friday. We'll see a break in the wet weather until late Saturday.
Our next healthy storm will arrive late Saturday & Sunday with more rain and gusty winds. It looks very similar to Thursday's storm in rain/snow totals, snow levels and wind gusts (which reached 130 mph at the top of Squaw Valley ski resort! The ridgetop there is about 8700'). Showers may linger into Monday morning.
We'll get a break after that for a few days, and should see sunshine on Tuesday. Models are bringing another storm in that Friday and potentially that weekend as well.
