Anderson stabbing suspect turns himself in

An Anderson man suspected of stabbing a man he was fighting with Wednesday night has turned himself into police.

According to the Anderson Police Department, 29-year-old Marc McClendon was wanted for allegedly stabbing a 61-year-old man in the head during a fight at an Anderson apartment complex on the 2500 block of Highway 273.

The victim told police McClendon chased him out of the apartment complex, and when he was returning to home, came behind him and stabbed him in the back of the head. The man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

McClendon was booked into the Shasta County Jail for felony assault with a deadly weapon, battery with serious bodily injury and criminal threats.
