Anderson police arrested a parolee Sunday night after he allegedly threw a knife at a person he was arguing with.

Police responded to reports of a stabbing on North Street just before 9 p.m., and learned the suspect, Walter Torres, 26, may have thrown a knife at, and struck a person with whom he was having a heated argument.

Torres was taken into custody at the scene, and police say their investigation revealed he had hit the unidentified victim in the face, and then thrown a pocket knife at the individual, striking them in the leg from 30-40 feet away.

Torres, who was found to be on parole for a robbery, was booked into the Shasta County Jail for felony domestic violence, felony assault and a parole violation.
