The Anderson couple accused of abusing and killing their three month old son were arraigned in court Friday on murder charges.
Action News Now reporter Angela Mussalam obtained court documents detailing the events that led up to baby Aidan's death on Monday.
Robert and Cynthia McBroom appeared before a Judge for the first time to answer to charges.
Redding Police investigators wrote a detailed account of the couple's confession.
It says that the alleged abuse began the morning of December 27th, when Anderson police were called to the couple's apartment.
They arrived to find the infant lying on his back inside the living room. He was not breathing.
Aidan was taken to Mercy Medical Center and then flown to UC Davis Medical Center. Doctors told police he had severe head injuries ... consistent with abuse.
According to the police report, on Christmas eve Cynthia McBroom aggressively shook the child, . causing the back of his head to slam into a wooden chair.
She told police she became frustrated with the baby when he wouldn't stop crying.
Court documents show two days later Robert McBroom "purposely" slammed the back of Aidan's head into a wall, in an attempt to get him to stop crying.
McBroom told police the baby became limp, so he put him down in his crib for the rest of the evening.
It wasn't until that next morning that the couple called 9-1-1, when they noticed Aidan wasn't breathing.
Police describe the McBroom's apartment to be in "deplorable condition".
A medical report submitted by UC Davis revealed the baby had a blood clot in his brain, skull and rib fractures and a bruised jaw.
His parent's bail has been raised to two-million dollars each -- they'll be back in court next week.
The McBroom's 2 year old daughter Keanna is now in protective custody.
