The Anderson Police are searching for a suspect who stabbed a man during an altercation.

At around 9:12 p.m. yesterday, officers responded to a potential stabbing on the 2500 block of Highway 273.
That is where officers found the 61-year-old victim from Anderson.

He says he was attempting to break up an altercation between the suspect and another person.

The victim told officers he chased the suspect out of the apartment complex, and when he was returning to his home, the suspect came behind him and stabbed him in the back of the head.

The victim's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A witness contacted Anderson Police and reported that 29-year-old Marc McClendon had borrowed his cell phone to call his mother, and told her he had just stabbed a man.

McClendon is described as a white male, 6'01", 168 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.

He was seen heading westbound on South Street, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with black shorts and carrying a skateboard.
